BeAware Traffic Plans began in 2022 as a sole trader business, founded by Ellissa with a clear vision: to provide high-quality, compliant traffic management planning services at reasonable and transparent rates. As the business continued to grow, BeAware Traffic Plans officially transitioned into a company in October 2025, reflecting its expansion and ongoing commitment to professional service delivery.
Ellissa’s journey into traffic management began in 2011 after spending several years as a stay-at-home mother to her three children.
After obtaining her Construction Induction (White Card) along with Blue and Yellow Traffic Control tickets, Ellissa commenced work as a traffic controller on the Central Coast of NSW. Within her first day, she progressed into the role of Team Leader, working with a semi-permanent crew on civil infrastructure sites involving underground electrical cable installations.
Over the following five years, Ellissa gained extensive hands-on experience across a wide range of projects for clients including Ausgrid, Transport for NSW (TfNSW), and major TfNSW contractors such as Seymour Whyte and CMC. These works included electrical cable replacements, water main upgrades, asphalt works, and major road duplication projects such as the Central Coast Highway Upgrade, Brisbane Water Drive and Manns Road Upgrade (West Gosford), and Wyong Road Upgrade (Tumbi Umbi).
In 2016, Ellissa transitioned into the role of Traffic Control Planner, where she further developed her expertise through on-the-job training, collaboration with experienced colleagues, and a strong commitment to understanding NSW temporary traffic management requirements. Her knowledge continued to grow through detailed review of industry manuals, proactive communication, and guidance from supervisors and managers throughout her career.
Between 2018 and 2020, Ellissa advanced into senior coordination roles, managing a traffic planning team of up to three planners. From 2020 to 2021, she worked as an Operations Manager for a Traffic Management Company, gaining valuable experience in resourcing, scheduling, vehicle management, and personnel leadership.
Across more than 15 years of industry experience, Ellissa has developed strong skills in stakeholder and contractor engagement, preparing quotations for planning, resourcing and permits, and maintaining high standards of administrative and technical accuracy.
Ellissa takes great pride in delivering fully compliant traffic management planning services, aligned with AS1742.3, Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management (2021), and TfNSW – Traffic Control at Worksites Manual V6.1. BeAware Traffic Plans is built on experience, integrity, and a genuine commitment to safety and quality outcomes for every project.
